Civil Litigation Paralegal
An opportunity for an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to join a highly regarded and established firm of solicitors based in Peterlee. The role could potentially lead to a training contract for the suitable candidate.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Support a team of experienced and dedicated lawyers in a varied caseload of civil litigation and personal injury law matters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare relevant documentation including legal correspondence, court applications, bundles, statements and briefs to counsel.
- Communicate with clients, counsel and court personnel professionally and effectively.
Maintain accurate and organised case files and documents. - Keep up to date on changes and developments in civil litigation law practices and procedures.
Person requirements:
- Law degree or equivalent qualifications.
Practical experience in civil litigation law in a fee earning capacity preferred. - Strong knowledge of civil litigation law practices, procedures and terminology.
- Practical knowledge and use of IT systems, including MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge and experience of using a legal case management system.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and an organised and methodical approach to working with excellent attention to detail.
- A polite, cheerful attitude, particularly when meeting clients.
- A committed and self-motivated individual who can work as part of a professional, friendly team.
