Living Together Agreement

What is a Living Together Agreement?

A living together agreement provides clarity for couples in respect of their finances and children in their relationship if they are not married. It can also record details such as who will retain ownership of the home and some of its contents.

The agreement must be entered into voluntarily, with each party having independent legal advice.

Your solicitor will obtain the information needed from you and create an agreement for your signature. The Courts are not bound under UK law to keep to the agreement but, unless there have been significant changes of circumstance, they are likely to regard the agreement as very clear evidence of both parties’ wishes.
